We have provided some answers to the questions we are most frequently asked.

Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?‎

Yes, we are fully licenced for civil ceremonies. You must book directly through the East Ridings Registrars and you can find out everything you may need to know on their website or call the Beverley office on 01482 393600

Do we have to be married at Carlton Manor to have a wedding reception?

No, if you would like to be legally married at another location that is absolutely fine. After the ceremony, we would love to help you celebrate your joyous occasion.

Can we use confetti?

At Carlton Manor, we passionately care about the environment and our beautiful surroundings, so we only allow biodegradable confetti or real petals. Please ensure that your guests are aware of this ahead of the ceremony.

Do we get exclusive use of the Manor and Gardens?

Yes, we offer total exclusivity so that you can enjoy uninterrupted privacy. We guarantee that there will be no other guests staying at the venue, and no other weddings or events taking place on your special day.

How many guests can Carlton Manor sleep?

We have 8 bedrooms in the manor house, which can sleep up to 18 people. An additional 3 double studio cottages are attached to the manor house and a further 12 self-contained glamping pods situated within the woodland setting. Carlton Manor provides accommodation for up to 80 guests in total across the whole site. Your guests will be able to book accommodation directly with us or they can be added into the cost of your wedding.

What time can we access the house?

Where possible, you can have access to the Ceremony Barn from 9am on your arrival day so that you are able to decorate the room however you please. But, a confirmed time will be agreed with you at your final appointment. Yourself and your guests can then access the manor house from 3pm.

Are guests able to camp in the grounds of Carlton Manor?

No, due to the lack of onsite facilities and some of the land being used for grazing, camping is not allowed.

Are cots available?

Yes, we can arrange for a cot to be placed in your room for your stay at the Manor. Please ensure these are booked in advance.

When is the house available to hold my wedding?

We are open all year round and offer weddings any day of the week. Please email us to check availability, or enquire via our website.

Is there additional accommodation in the area?

There are a wide variety of options in the area, from hotels and B&Bs to lodges and campsites. Please get in touch for our recommended suppliers.

Is there in-house catering?

No, we supply you with the freedom to select from a wide array of superb local caterers, which we have partnered with. Please ask our team for details.

Is there a licensed bar?

Yes, we have a well-stocked bar which offers a wide range of wines, spirits and soft drinks. The bar is licensed until midnight, however this can be extended – we are able to apply for a late license for an additonal cost.

Are we able to request certain drinks?

We have an extensive drinks menu, including cocktails, gins and more. If you have an extra-special request, please let us know and we will do our best to cater.

Is entertainment allowed?

Yes, you can arrange a live band or a DJ and disco. We must be provided with details of their public liability and PAT testing of equipment prior to the wedding.

Are we allowed to bring pets?

If yourself or any of your guests require the use of an assistance dog, this is permitted. However, all other pets are permitted on the grounds only and not inside the Manor.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking directly in front of the house is reserved for the main wedding party, the registrars and disabled guests. Just over the road there is ample parking for the remainder of your guests.

What’s included in the price of Carlton Manor?

From June 2023 the price includes:

  • 2 nights exclusive use of the manor house
  • A choice of Ceremony areas
  • A cake table/gift table
  • Access to a fully stocked Licensed bar with staff
  • External catering access
  • Use of the Carlton Tipi for up to 200 guests
  • Tables and chairs for up to 150 guests
  • Use of the Ceremony Barn for up to 150 guests
  • Use of outdoor furniture
  • Use of the gardens for drinks & photos
  • Dedicated coordinator on the day of your wedding

Can we decorate the house, Tipi and Ceremony Barn?

Yes, you decorate to suit your theme however you wish (within reason)! We do allow candles when in covered holders, bunting and fairy lights too and we are more than happy to help you with ideas or put you in touche with our recommended stylist.

Do you have a PA system with a microphone for speeches?

Yes, the PA can be used to play your chosen background music and there is use of a microphone too.

Do you have highchairs?

We have 4 highchairs which would be available for you to use. Please make sure that these are pre- booked at your final appointment.

Is the table linen included?

No, table linen is extra. Normally some caterers will supply the table linen for you but we can arrange it for you if needed. If so, it is charged at £10 per cloth and needs to be pre-ordered.
